Puppy/Dog Vaccinations
Your dog's health is important to us. For that reason, we recommend the following*:
Puppies less than 6 months (or any dog who has never had vaccines): Comprehensive Physical Examination Vaccinations: Distemper (DHPP) every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks of age Rabies (for pet's older than 12 weeks of age) booster due in one year Bordetella (aka Kennel Cough) booster due in 6 months, then annually Lyme (to protect against Lyme disease) booster due in 2-3 weeks, then annually Leptospirosis booster due in 3-4 weeks, then annually Corona booster due in 3-4 weeks, then at 1 year of age Puppies 5-6 months of age: Comprehensive Physical Exam Preoperative Blood Screen Heartworm/ Lyme/ E.canis/ Anaplasmosis Test performed initially at 4-6 months of age and then annually. Spay/ Neuter Dogs of all ages: Biannual Comprehensive Physical Examination Heartworm Prevention year round Flea/ Tick Prevention year round Intestinal Parasite Examination (fecal analysis) at each puppy visit and then every 6 months Deworming according to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Microchipping/ Pennsylvania Lifetime License/ National Pet Registration Vaccinations based on your pet's needs General Health Profile (blood testing) to evaluate your pet's internal health
To maximize your pet's health, we also recommend feeding a healthy diet, providing regular grooming including routine ear cleaning, toenail trims, and daily dental care. We will be happy to discuss these procedures during your pet's visit.
