We are looking for

If you are interested in joining our team,
Veterinary Assistant and/or Technician
The responsibilities of veterinary assistants vary considerably. In some situations, you may be assigned to assist only in the exam room or to assist only the veterinary technicians. More typically, though, you will divide your time between assisting the receptionists, helping doctors with physical examinations, dispensing medications, and helping veterinary technicians position patients for and process radiographs, prepare patients for surgery, provide nursing and comfort care, and perform treatments or basic laboratory diagnostic tests. Veterinary assistants must build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members. Assistants should have completed or be in the process of completing their high school diplomas and must pursue significant on-the-job training.
Veterinary technicians, also identified as registered veterinary technicians, certified veterinary technicians, animal-health technicians, or veterinary nurses, are required to have completed an AVMA-accredited veterinary-technician program prior to passing the PA requirements for certification or registration. Veterinary technicians must have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses. They must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures. Technicians must also deliver compassionate nursing care.
Client Care Representative
Client Care Representatives are the client-relations experts in a veterinary practice. They are the clients’ first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person. Client care Representatives must possess strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. They must have compassion for animals and their owners and understand the stress that patients and clients endure. Client Care Representatives are responsible for greeting clients; differentiating routine cases from emergency cases; scheduling appointments; entering client, patient, and financial data into the computer; generating invoices and explaining them to clients; processing payments; and managing the retrieval and storage of medical records. They should expect to spend nearly all of their workdays at the front desk. The position requires the completion of a high-school degree or further education, competence in the English language, patience, and a pleasant manner. Ideally, newly hired client Care Representatives will possess computer skills and have had cashier and related front office work experience.
Veterinarians must have a thorough knowledge of animal science, medicine, radiology, clinical pathology, anesthesiology, pain management, behavior, husbandry, and pharmacology and reasonable math and routine surgical skills. They must be able to successfully diagnose diseases and injuries, prescribe treatments and perform surgery. Veterinarians must also deliver compassionate veterinary care while serving as the pet’s advocate. Effective communication skills are essential. A willingness to educate clients in a professional, yet caring, manner and desire to work with staff as a team member and leader are required.
Veterinarians are required to have completed an AVMA-accredited veterinary educational program and be licensed in Pennsylvania. They must be eligible for or possess a current DEA license and professional liability insurance.
